Deadbeat Poets - Joe The Mynah Bird

"Joe The Mynah Bird" by the Deadbeat Poets

(Frank Secich)
Let's go see Joe the Mynah Bird
Find out what new words he's learned
No one would take Joe home it's sad
Because his language was so bad
Us kids would teach Joe dirty words
Then fall about when he conferred
Laugh until our sides would split
Every time Joe'd let it rip
Joe The Mynah Bird
Dropping F-bombs on grandmother
Joe The Mynah Bird
Funniest thing you ever heard
The S.S. Kresge's employees
Tried to teach that mocking bird to sing
All their efforts went for naught
As Joe rained down profanity
The serious customers complained
About the bad bird every day
They'd repeat the same refrain
While expecting things to change
Then one day no more Joe
Our beloved bird was gone (quite ominously)
The department store has Musak now
That blends into the wall (quite colourlessly)
But if you listen hard enough
YOU CAN HEAR HIM Call
Someone bought him renamed him Jack
Very next day they brought him back
Those who worked there used to say
They could not give Joe away
But he kept our small minds entertained
Time well spent in reverie
Joe could not hide his disdain
For those who were outside his cage
Joe The Mynah Bird
Dropping F-bombs on priests and nuns
Joe The Mynah Bird
Wildest thing you ever heard
